Reports Barcelona boss Xavi considers Dybala ‘over-rated’

Paulo Dybala will leave Juventus as a free agent, but reports in Spain suggest Barcelona coach Xavi considers him to be ‘over-rated.’

The Argentina international has not been offered a new contract in Turin, so will be a free agent on July 1.

He has been linked with numerous clubs, including Inter, Napoli, PSG, Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.

However, El Nacional newspaper and La Gazzetta dello Sport insist Barca are not going to be an option for La Joya, because even as a free agent, coach Xavi is not interested in picking him up.

The Catalan media maintain the tactician sees Dybala as ‘over-rated and not functional’ to his style of football at Camp Nou.

Barcelona already brought in Ferran Torres, Adama Traore and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during the January transfer window to bolster their attacking options.

So far this season, Dybala has contributed 13 goals and six assists for Juventus in 29 competitive games, but as usual, his campaign has also been affected by recurring injury problems.
