The Italian Coach masterminded one of the greatest shocks in modern sporting history by leading the Foxes to their first ever English League title last season, winning admirers around the globe.
However, in an interview with Daily Telegraph, the former Inter, Roma and Juventus boss pointed to his time in Sardinia as the period which shaped his career.

However, in an interview with Daily Telegraph, the former Inter, Roma and Juventus boss pointed to his time in Sardinia as the period which shaped his career.
“For me when someone says this [Leicester] is the biggest achievement in my career I say ‘Yes’ because never have I won a [top-flight] title,” Ranieri explained.
“But I think the best achievement is Cagliari [from 1988 to 1991], because I started from the amateurs.
“I had jobs at Campania Puteolana and then Vigor Lamezia [both non-league teams] and then I went to Cagliari when in three years we went from Serie C1, to Serie B and to Serie A. From the amateur Leagues – POW! – we went up. Without that, without Cagliari, I wouldn’t be here.”
Following his departure from Cagliari in 1991, Ranieri moved to Napoli before a four-year spell in charge of Fiorentina.
