Petagna to Monza, Simeone set for Napoli

Napoli are on the verge of selling Andrea Petagna to Monza, which allows them to bring in Giovanni Simeone from Hellas Verona.

Most of the deals that newly-promoted Monza are doing have the same basic formula, which is a loan with obligation to buy if they avoid relegation at the end of the season.

Although it is their first ever top flight campaign, they are backed by former Milan chiefs Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani, investing heavily in the squad.

According to Sportitalia, the deal is almost done for Napoli centre-forward Petagna, who will arrive on loan with obligation to buy for a total €15m.

Once that is completed, then Napoli can make their move stick for Verona striker Simeone.

Arsenal and West Ham United have also been linked with Cholito Simeone, the son of Atletico Madrid coach Diego, while Juventus seem to have turned their focus back to Alvaro Morata.

Meanwhile, Monza today had Verona’s Gianluca Caprari and Juventus youth product Filippo Ranocchia undergo their medicals.
