Official: Tomori recovers from COVID

Milan announce Fikayo Tomori has recovered from COVID and will return to group training today.

The former Chelsea defender tested positive for COVID last week, but the Rossoneri didn’t confirm their defender had contracted the virus.

Now, they announce the 24-year-old is COVID free and will return to group training today.

“AC Milan announces that Fikayo Tomori has tested negative for Covid-19. The player has recovered and will return to training with his teammates today,” the club statement read.

Milan currently have two players out of action due to COVID, Ciprian Tatarusanu, Davide Calabria and Alessio Romagnoli, even if the Serie A giants have not confirmed that the Italy defenders had a positive swab test.

Pierre Kalulu and Matteo Gabbia started Milan’s last two games in centre defence, with the Rossoneri collecting victories against Roma and Venezia conceding only once.

The Rossoneri return to the pitch on Thursday in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia against Genoa.

Their next Serie A game is on Monday, January 17, against Spezia at San Siro.
