New Milan coach Paulo Fonseca admits he’s different from his compatriot José Mourinho but he wants to replicate what the Special One did at Inter.

No foreign coach has won the Serie A title since Mourinho at Inter in 2010 and the Special One’s compatriot Fonseca was unveiled today as the new Milan coach.

Fonseca replied to a question about his compatriot who also replaced him at Roma in 2021.

“I am different from Mourinho, but I am proud a Portuguese has already won here,” said Fonseca.

“I want to do the same for a different club, Milan. As I said, I have great ambition and I want to win.”

Fonseca has signed a three-year contract at San Siro. Read every word he said during his first press conference as the new Milan coach here.
