Jose Mourinho could be reunited with Tanguy Ndombele at Roma after Antonio Conte’s comments suggested he did not want to keep the midfielder at Tottenham Hotspur.
The 25-year-old has made only five appearances in all competition since Conte took over from Nuno Espirito Santo.
Conte was asked about Ndombele’s role during a press conference this week and his comments, a shrugged “he’s a midfielder. I think… he is a midfielder” did not inspire confidence.
Ndombele has been overtaken in the pecking order by Harry Winks under Conte.
He was a regular under Mourinho, scoring six goals and providing five assists in his 57 official matches in 2019-20 and 2020-21.
Mou was fired by Spurs in April 2021 and could now reunite with Ndombele at the Stadio Olimpico, according to Calciomercato.com.
The transfer valuation is €30m, so Roma would only be able to take him on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.
He has seven senior caps for France and cost €60m to sign from Olympique Lyonnais in 2019.
