Milan without Zlatan at the start of the season?

Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic seems set to miss the start of the season, as he continues to train separately.

The Rossoneri striker, who turns 40 on October 3, has not started working with the rest of the group and La Gazzetta dello Sport reports his recovery is taking longer than expected.

Ibrahimovic underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in June, as he has been out since the 3-0 win over Juventus on May 9.

Zlatan thus missed the Euros with Sweden and will not be ready for the start of 2021-22, as the report claims he will miss the first day of Serie A against Sampdoria in Genoa.

He also risks not being back for the second round against Cagliari at San Siro, but Stefano Pioli has options after bringing in French centre-forward Olivier Giroud, who arrived from Chelsea this summer.
