Milan set sights on Brekalo

According to Tuttosport newspaper, Torino star Josip Brekalo has been targeted by Milan for 2022-23.

The 23-year-old joined the Granata on loan from Wolfsburg last summer and despite an impressive season at the Stadio Grande Torino, he has already decided to leave.

“We had more than one meeting with the player, his agent and his father,” Torino director Davide Vagnati said last week.

“Over the last few months, he has told us that he does not want to continue with Torino.”

Scorer of seven goals in 31 Serie A appearances with the Granata this season, Brekalo’s contract with Wolfsburg expires in June 2023.

According to Tuttosport, the Rossoneri are monitoring the versatile Croatia international who can play as an attacking midfielder or winger.

The 23-year-old could replace Junior Messias, whose future at the Stadio Meazza is in doubt. Milan can make his move permanent from Crotone for €6m, but have yet to make a final decision on the Brazilian forward. Brekalo is determined to leave Torino but won’t remain at Wolfsburg either.

Milan had already targeted the versatile Trequartista in the past. He is seen as a perfect profile for the Rossoneri’s owners Elliott, but with negotiations over the club’s takeover ongoing, the Serie A giants won’t make their move too soon.
