According to Tuttosport newspaper, Torino star Josip Brekalo has been targeted by Milan for 2022-23.

The 23-year-old joined the Granata on loan from Wolfsburg last summer and despite an impressive season at the Stadio Grande Torino, he has already decided to leave.

“We had more than one meeting with the player, his agent and his father,” Torino director Davide Vagnati said last week.

“Over the last few months, he has told us that he does not want to continue with Torino.”

Scorer of seven goals in 31 Serie A appearances with the Granata this season, Brekalo’s contract with Wolfsburg expires in June 2023.

According to Tuttosport, the Rossoneri are monitoring the versatile Croatia international who can play as an attacking midfielder or winger.

The 23-year-old could replace Junior Messias, whose future at the Stadio Meazza is in doubt. Milan can make his move permanent from Crotone for €6m, but have yet to make a final decision on the Brazilian forward. Brekalo is determined to leave Torino but won’t remain at Wolfsburg either.

Milan had already targeted the versatile Trequartista in the past. He is seen as a perfect profile for the Rossoneri’s owners Elliott, but with negotiations over the club’s takeover ongoing, the Serie A giants won’t make their move too soon.

  1. Almost champion this season, next season surely hoping to defend or win the title, gonna be the second consecutive season in the champions league and this is the name that is linked?
What clearly can be seen that Krunic, Diaz can be kept for mid-table/bottom table fixtures while we definitely need top level 3 players MINIMUM : #9 , right wing and CAM. Botman I don’t know… I feel its overkill. We get Kjaer back, Kalulu is ofc… great.

    In total:
1 – CB – A young highly talented hopefully home-grown talent. He plays after Tomori, Kjaer, Kalulu and Gabbia. Out : Romagnoli and don’t sign Caldara.
2 – LB – Out : Ballo-touré. Its a shame as I had hopes for him but saint Théo has not been injured thankfully. So Just perhaps another young understudy.
3 – CM – Replacement for Kashhie – I guess Pobega could be it.
4 – OUT : Messias, Saelemaekers, Castillejo ( I really don’t get how we end up with some deadwood like this always!!!) IN : appropriate replacements.

  2. @Dollarumma you are forgetting we don’t have a real guy behind our number 9. Along with the RW we need (maybe Berardi?) we need a 3/4 and a number 9. Giroud is almost 36 and needs to be rotated.

I would go for (in order of priority)

    1. a 3/4, not sure if Brahim will stay and his level has gone abysmal. We need no less than 1 guy here
    2. A RW, Messias should go, I would keep Saelemakers, and go for Berardi
    3. A number 9 pronto. I would go for Belotti even if he is past his prime. Depends also if Zlatan decides to call it a day
    4. A replacement for Merdie: could be Pobega and also Adli has to come this season
    5. A CB ONLY if Romagnoli leaves and Kjaer is not fully recovered. Otherwise, we are fine there
    6. A LB to rest Theo. Could be a young italian player

  3. What we REALLY need is a great attacking midfielder in the great and noble tradition of Gullit, Kaká, Baggio etc. This kind of player is very rare and of course very expensive too, but with the new owners we can afford this kind of signing.

So this MISTER X, a good striker and a replacement for Kessie (which is already coming with Adli and maybe Sanches). With these signings we would make a tremendous qualitative leap.
