Milan President Paolo Scaroni has caused shockwaves with his comments about the future of Rafael Leao. ‘If they offer us 150 million, I’ll wrap him up in a package myself.’

Scaroni was overheard by Agenzia Dire while speaking to fans outside a ceremony at the Quirinale in Rome.

“Leao? If they offer us €150m, I’ll wrap him up in a package myself. I am after all very venal person,” joked the President.

“The priority right now is finding a centre-forward.”

Sources close to Milan quickly rushed to deny Scaroni had said those words.

Rafael Leao contract clause with Milan

The Portugal international only recently signed a new contract to June 2028 and it is reported there is a release clause worth €175m in the deal, which is valid only for a 10-day window in the summer.

That is from July 5 to July 15, which was meant to provide Milan with guarantees and note the value of the player to their project.

Therefore, these comments that even €150m would be more than acceptable become rather embarrassing for the club and their star man.

Paris Saint-Germain are known to be seeking a replacement for Kylian Mbappé and Rafael Leao would be among the ideal candidates.

Another is also from Serie A, as they have set their sights on Napoli winger Kvicha Kvaratskhelia.
