According to reports in France, the €175m release clause in Rafael Leao’s Milan contract is only valid for a very brief 10-day window in the summer, as PSG prepare an approach.

The striker recently put pen to paper on the new deal and it includes a release clause, but the details have been fairly vague so far.

Now Footmercato maintain that the clause is worth €175m and can be paid in multiple instalments, which could make it far easier for any interested parties to activate it.

However, it was also known that there are specific time limits and more details on that are emerging too.

This report states it can only be triggered from July 5 to July 15 every year until the contract expires in June 2028.

That is a very narrow 10-day window and means any offer outside of that period will have to go through negotiations directly with Milan.

Paris Saint-Germain are said to be preparing an approach for Leao as the replacement for Kylian Mbappé, who is heading towards Real Madrid as a free agent in the summer.

In the Premier League, Chelsea and Liverpool have also been linked with Leao.
