New Milan coach Paulo Fonseca landed at Malpensa Airport on Saturday and will hold his first press conference on Monday: here’s how the Rossoneri could line up under the Portuguese tactician next season.

Fonseca’s new era at Milan has just begun and the Rossoneri will reunite for the start of the pre-season tomorrow, Monday, July 8, 2024. The Portuguese coach has signed a three-year contract at San Siro.

Sunday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport reports how the Rossoneri could line up under the ex-Roma boss in 2024-25. Fonseca is expected to use a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Milan’s priority is to sign a new centre-forward after Olivier Giroud joined LAFC on a free transfer at the end of his contract with the Serie A giants.

Alvaro Morata and Romelu Lukaku are among the strikers linked with a move to San Siro as talks for Joshua Zirkzee have been put on hold given that the Dutch forward’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, still demands €15m commission to make the transfer happen.

Youssouf Fofana of Monaco is Milan’s priority target in central midfield, while Strahinja Pavlovic is an option if Malick Thiaw leaves.

Tottenham’s Emerson Royal is a priority for the right-back position, but Spurs have recently rejected Milan’s opening offer for the Brazilian defender.
