Milan in advanced talks to sign Berardi

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan are in advanced talks to sign Domenico Berardi from Sassuolo.

The Serie A giants are on the lookout for a new right winger and Berardi is among their priorities for 2022-23. Sassuolo’s asking price is circa €30m and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan are in advanced talks with the Neroverdi.

Berardi will turn 28 in August and is ready to take a step forward in his career, joining a top club. He has reached double figures for goals and assists in Serie A this season and the Neroverdi are prepared to part ways with their star in the summer.

Both Elliott and Investcorp, who are in talks to acquire the club, see Berardi as an ideal reinforcement for 2022-23, so Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have already begun negotiations with Sassuolo. Berardi’s teammate Gianluca Scamacca is also a target for next season.

If Investcorp completes the club’s takeover, Berardi could be only one of the big names moving to the Stadio Meazza as Riyad Mahrez, Renato Sanches and Sebastian Haller have also been linked with a summer transfer to Milanello.

Sven Botman and Divock Origi are close to joining the Rossoneri. The Lille defender has agreed personal terms with the Serie A giants, while Origi is expected to shake hands with Milan over the next few weeks ahead of a free transfer from Liverpool.
