Milan extend and have plans for Pobega

Milan have officially extended their contract with midfielder Tommaso Pobega until June 2027 and he could become the heir to Franck Kessie after missing out on Renato Sanches.

The 23-year-old is a product of the Milan youth academy and has been sent out on several loan spells to Ternana, Pordenone, Spezia and last season Torino.

His current deal was due to expire in June 2025, but he put pen to paper today on an improved deal.

It was assumed he would be loaned out again, but the failure to capture Renato Sanches from LOSC could change those plans.

Instead, Renato Sanches completed his transfer to Paris Saint-Germain yesterday and another alternative, Carney Chukwuemeka, moved from Aston Villa to Chelsea.

With options now limited and the funds spent largely on Charles De Ketelaere, Milan could be tempted to turn Pobega into their heir for Kessie.

Last season he contributed four goals and three assists in 33 Serie A appearances for Torino.
