Mihajlovic’s wife breaks silence by quoting Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet

Sinisa Mihajlovic’s wife Arianna quoted a line from William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet after the death of the former Serie A defender and coach.

Mihajlovic died of leukaemia in a hospital in Rome on Friday, December 16, 2022.

A former Serie A defender and coach, Mihajlovic was married to Arianna Rapaccioni and the couple had five children: Viktorija, Virginia, Miroslav, Dusan and Nikolas.

Arianna used a line from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet to remember her husband on Instagram: “Take him and cut him out in little stars, and he will make the face of heaven so fine that all the world will be in love with night.”

The entire world of football is paying tribute to the 53-year-old who had played for Roma, Sampdoria, Lazio and Inter in Serie A, coaching Bologna, Catania, Fiorentina, Serbia, Samp, Milan, Torino and Sporting CP.

Many of his former players at Bologna also expressed pain on social media. “Thank you for always believing in me, especially when others didn’t,” wrote the Rossoblu star Marko Arnautovic on Friday.

The Serie A side sacked Mihajlovic in September after two and a half years at the club.

Mihajlovic had played 315 games in Serie A, scoring 38 goals.
