Josip Ilicic was the best Serie A player on Sunday, according to Italian sports papers, with an average rating of 8.1/10, while Pedro (Roma), Mario Rui (Napoli) and Angelo Da Costa (Bologna) were among the worst.

Josip Ilicic was the best Serie A player on Sunday, according to Italian sports papers, with an average rating of 8.1/10, while Pedro (Roma), Mario Rui (Napoli) and Angelo Da Costa (Bologna) were among the worst.

Ilicic was subbed on in the second half of La Dea’s 4-1 win against Roma, and he scored once and delivered two assists. Nobody else has higher ratings from the Italian sports papers: 8.5 from La Gazzetta dello Sport, 8 from Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport.

Many other players from La Dea, such as Luis Muriel, Marten De Roon, Duvan Zapata, Robin Gosens, Berat Djimsiti and José Luis Palomino are all rated 7/10 whereas Roma’s Antonio Mirante and Pedro are among the worst five players of Sunday.

Despite Rafael Leao’s fastest goal in Europe’s leading leagues, the Portuguese striker was not the best player on the pitch in Milan-Sassuolo, with his teammates Hakan Calhanoglu and Theo Hernandez getting slightly higher ratings than him.

Achraf Hakimi was the undisputed man of the match of Inter-Spezia and Ciro Immobile is another one of those who shined on Sunday’s Serie A MD 13.

The striker scored Lazio’s opener against Napoli and provided an assist to allow Luis Alberto to double the Biancocelesti’s lead.

Napoli’s Mario Rui and Matteo Politano, on the other hand, have bad ratings from Italian sports papers and the same is true of Bologna’s goalkeeper Angelo Da Costa, who somehow managed to knock Simone Verdi’s free kick back into his own net from six yards with his foot in in Torino-Bologna.

Genoa’s Lennart Czyborra is another flop of Serie A MD 13 as his mismanaging of the ball lead to Roberto Insigne’s opener in Benevento-Genoa, with the winger also among the best Serie A players on Sunday.

Charalampos Lykogiannis and Kevin Lasagna who both scored in the 1-1 draw between Cagliari and Udinese, also rating highly.
