Inter CEO Beppe Marotta insists the Nerazzurri have ‘no problems in attack’ and tells fans not to expect significant investments during the summer.
The former Juventus director spoke to Sky Sport Italia ahead of tonight’s Coppa Italia Final between Inter and the Old Lady.
“We are in the race for the Coppa Italia and the Scudetto, two exciting realities. The players are serene, determined and motivated. Everyone wants to make a special gift for the fans,” Marotta said as quoted by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
There are many talking points about the game concerning on and off the pitch matters, including Paulo Dybala’s future. La Joya will leave Juventus as a free agent at the end of the season.
“Dybala is an excellent footballer, he is available as a free agent, so I think many clubs want him,” said Marotta.
“We have a quality attacking department with five players that have made Inter the best attack in Serie A. We have no problems, but I appreciate Dybala’s qualities.”
Marotta is the man that brought Dybala to Juventus from Palermo in a €40m deal in 2014. The Bianconeri informed Dybala in March that they would not extend his expiring contract, meaning that he would leave for free in the summer.
What should Inter fans expect in 2022-23?
“We have a young and talented coach such as Simone Inzaghi, a group of young players representing something positive for the club. We must make some adjustments and make the most of the opportunities.
“We can’t expect big investments from football clubs, especially in Italy. We need to get useful players for a team that is already shaped. Ivan Perisic’s extension? If he wants to stay, I am optimistic.”
Inter are unbeaten against Juventus this season and won the Supercoppa against the Bianconeri in January. They are in the race for a domestic treble being two points behind Serie A leaders Milan with only two games remaining.
