Maldini’s Milan Champions League wishlist: Zaniolo, Bremer, Sanches – report

Milan director Paolo Maldini has outlined three new players to make the Rossoneri competitive in the Champions League again, according to reports in Italy.

The Serie A champions are second only to Real Madrid in terms of European Cups/Champions League titles won but have not reached the knockout stages since 2014

And Gazzetta dello Sport report Maldini is hoping to use their recent title win as a springboard to further success by targeting midfielders Nicolo Zaniolo and Renato Sanches as well defender Bremer.

Zaniolo is one Italy’s most talented players and, despite suffering back-to-back serious knee injuries has enjoyed an impressive season and recently scored the winner in Roma‘s Europa Conference League victory over Feyenoord.

Torino‘s Bremer was voted Serie A’s best defender in 2021-22 and his certain to leave with Inter and Paris Saint-Germain also targets.

Sanches, meanwhile, burst onto the scene when he won the Golden Boy award in 2016 as Europe’s best young player, earning him a move to Bayern Munich but struggled to adapt and, following a loan spell in the Premier League with Swansea City, joined Ligue 1 side Lille on a permanent deal where he has recaptured some of his best form.
