Koopmeiners agent confirms Juventus interest

Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli has been tracking Teun Koopmeiners for many years, confirms his agent, but ‘there has not been contact lately’ for the Atalanta star.

The midfielder bagged a brace in last night’s Coppa Italia victory away to Milan, adding a few more millions to the price-tag that is already believed to be in the region of €60m.

This has attracted interest from the Premier League, while in Serie A he is believed to be on the radar of Napoli and above all Juventus.

“Yes, I know he is very admired by Juventus. I already talked to Giuntoli when Teun was still playing for AZ Alkmaar,” agent Bart Baving told Calciomercato.it.

“However, there has not been contact lately. The two clubs would have to talk to each other first.”

Giuntoli was the director of sport at Napoli for several years before moving to the same role at Juventus over the summer of 2023.

Atalanta do not seem at all eager to let Koopmeiners leave and have already made it clear they need to receive a huge offer in order to sell their top talents.

“I am sure that he is able to be successful anywhere he goes, because his quality and mentality offers so much to any team,” added the representative.

“For now, he really enjoys playing and living in Italy, but we never know what the future may hold. The only thing I know is that Teun’s future will be bright.”

The Netherlands international turns 26 next month and is having a very impressive campaign, scoring six goals and providing four assists in 25 appearances between Serie A, the Europa League and the Coppa Italia.
