Juventus set sights on expiring Zenit forward Azmoun

Juventus have recently requested information about Zenit St. Petersburg forward Sardar Azmoun as they look to sign a new striker.

The Bianconeri have been linked with a number of forwards during this month’s transfer window and sporting director Federico Cherubini’s top two targets currently are Paris Saint-Germain’s Mauro Icardi and Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but neither deal is particularly easy to pull off.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Juventus recently asked Zenit for information about the 27-year-old Azmoun, who is contracted to the Russian side until June of this year. No real negotiations have been started yet, but coach Massimiliano Allegri is a big fan of the Iranian striker and the club could look to make an offer for him soon.

Much will depend on Ligue 1 side Lyon, who have been in advanced negations with Azmoun for a number of weeks now. They made a €3m offer to Zenit to sign the player this month, but that was declined.
