Juventus have recently requested information about Zenit St. Petersburg forward Sardar Azmoun as they look to sign a new striker.

The Bianconeri have been linked with a number of forwards during this month’s transfer window and sporting director Federico Cherubini’s top two targets currently are Paris Saint-Germain’s Mauro Icardi and Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but neither deal is particularly easy to pull off.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Juventus recently asked Zenit for information about the 27-year-old Azmoun, who is contracted to the Russian side until June of this year. No real negotiations have been started yet, but coach Massimiliano Allegri is a big fan of the Iranian striker and the club could look to make an offer for him soon.

Much will depend on Ligue 1 side Lyon, who have been in advanced negations with Azmoun for a number of weeks now. They made a €3m offer to Zenit to sign the player this month, but that was declined.

  1. What is up with Italian clubs? Are the Italian talents so poor that they need to chase an Iranian 27 year old who is far from prolific?

  2. Azmoun is the best choice for juve. the adherents who criticize against this transfer do not be familiar with this astute and agile player. I am sure that he will be one of the popular strikers of Juve in all history.

  3. ans: to MIL-INT , it seems you dont watch football , he better go to a fast paced team like Everton than slow broke Italian team like Juve
