Juventus reassured by Chiesa tests after leaving Italy camp

There is reassuring news for Juventus, as although Federico Chiesa has left the Italy camp, his injury is not believed to be serious.

The former Fiorentina man and Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini were both released from international duty today ahead of EURO 2024 qualifiers against North Macedonia and Ukraine.

They were suffering from muscular issues and coach Luciano Spalletti preferred not to take any risks, sending them back to their clubs.

According to Tuttosport, Chiesa has already undergone tests at the J-Medical centre in Turin this afternoon and the results were reassuring.

He has not suffered any lesion to the adductor, so it is only fatigued and requires some rest.

Nonetheless, the adductor is an area that needs to be treated very carefully, so as things stand the suggestion is that Chiesa could at best be on the bench for the Serie A showdown with Lazio on September 16.

Considering Chiesa’s long history of injuries, Max Allegri is expected to take a cautious approach.
