Juventus miss out on Kessie as Al-Ahli agree deal

Juventus’ interest in Franck Kessie has ultimately come to nothing as Al-Ahli prepare to complete a deal for the Barcelona midfielder.

The Bianconeri believed the Ivorian midfielder would be a good fit for Massimiliano Allegri’s squad and sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli worked hard to try and set up a deal with the Blaugrana, who were open to letting him go for around €15m.

Juventus faced an uphill battle for Kessie, who made it clear that he wasn’t too interested in returning to Serie A just a year after his departure from Milan. Tottenham also registered their interest, but did not launch a sinking blow.

As reported by various outlets including Revelo, The Athletic and Calciomercato.com, Kessie has now agreed to join Al-Ahli, who will pay Barcelona €15m for his signature.

The Ivorian midfielder will fly to Paris to complete his medicals with the club in the coming hours before putting pen to paper on a three-year contract worth around €20m net per season.
