Juventus fans furious with ‘disrespectful’ Bayern Munich over De Ligt comments

Juventus fans have reacted furiously against Bayern Munich for the ‘disrespect’ shown in their open courtship of Matthijs de Ligt.

The German club held negotiations with both the Bianconeri and De Ligt’s representative, Rafaela Pimenta, during Hasan Salihamidzic’s quick trip to Turin earlier this month.

Today was the presentation of the Bayern Munich squad to fans, during which both directors Oliver Kahn and Salihamidzic spoke to German television and confirmed the discussions.

“We had talks and the player wants to come to FC Bayern,” Kahn told Blickpunkt Sport.

“We’ll have more discussions and then see how it goes.”

Salihamidzic then told Sky Sports Deutschland it was “no secret” there was a meeting in Turin. “We had talks, there will be more.”

This attitude infuriated Juventus supporters online, especially amid reports the offer is €60m including bonuses, a very long way off the €90-100m asking price.

Numerous tweets and Instagram posts from the fans all complain this open discussion of a player belonging to another club shows a “total lack of respect” for Juventus.

“Who does this Kahn think he is, talking about a player registered to another club? Juve should respond, but they won’t, we are a long way off being a top club.”

The general response also was that De Ligt is more than welcome to leave for Bayern, as long as the Old Lady get the right price.
