Italy and PSG star Verratti robbed of €3m in Ronaldo’s villa

Italy international Marco Verratti was the victim of a robbery while on vacation at Ronaldo’s villa, with €3m of items stolen from the PSG midfielder.

According to Diario de Ibiza and Le Parisien, the incident occurred while Verratti and his family were out to dinner on Sunday evening.

They returned home to discover burglars had broken into the rented villa, which is owned by former Inter striker Ronaldo, and stolen jewellery, watches and cash amounting to circa €3m.

Much of the loot was Verratti’s collection of luxury watches.

Local police believe this was a targeted robbery performed by a specialised gang, because they managed to disable the sophisticated security system.

There have been a spate of high-profile robberies involving Paris Saint-Germain players, including imminent Juventus signing Angel Di Maria and former Roma defender Marquinhos.

Verratti is on his summer vacation before the PSG pre-season training is scheduled to begin on Monday July 4.
