Injured Mbappé could miss meeting with Ancelotti’s Real Madrid

PSG star Kylian Mbappé could miss Wednesday’s match against Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid following an injury during today’s training session.

The France striker decided the first leg three weeks ago with a stunning solo goal in the stoppages. However, Le Parisien and RMC Sport report that he may not be available on Wednesday in Madrid due to an injury sustained during today’s training session. Mbappé will undergo medical examinations today and it’s still unclear whether he will be able to travel to Madrid.

Ancelotti has admitted that the performance against PSG three weeks ago was disappointing. “The image we offered was not good,” he said at a press conference days after the match in Paris.

“The result is not the biggest problem because it can be changed, what was worse, was the image.

“Mbappé? He hurt us, but we have three weeks to prepare another game against him.”

Ancelotti’s Real Madrid are the La Liga table leaders with an eight-point lead over Sevilla.

The Italian tactician has never won the Spanish title but lifted the Champions League three times during his playing career: twice at Milan and once at Real Madrid, the historic Decima.

His chances to beat PSG and qualify for the quarter-finals could rise if Mbappé is eventually ruled out of the game.
