Immobile’s message to Lazio teammates after returning from stint in hospital

Ciro Immobile returned to Lazio’s training ground with a message of determination for his teammates following his spell in hospital after being involved in a road accident on Sunday morning.

While driving with two of his daughters in Rome over the weekend, Immobile’s car collided with the number 19 tram, forcing the carriage to derail and leaving the front of the SUV completely smashed.

Immobile suffered whiplash and a compound fracture to his 11th rib and was hospitalised for a number of days along with his two passengers and the tram driver.

The Biancocelesti captain was discharged from hospital on Thursday and was present at Lazio’s Formello training ground on Friday morning.

According to Il Messaggero, Immobible addressed his teammates with the following message: “I’m back guys and now I want to start from scratch and only think about training.”

Immobile’s situation will continue to be monitored by Lazoi’s club doctors and reports suggest that a return to action in time for Saturday’s clash with Torino at the Stadio Olimpico may be one too soon.

Maurizio Sarri and his team travel to Milan to face Inter at San Siro the following Sunday, which might be a more realistic target for the return of Lazio’s leading goalscorer.
