Genoa President Alberto Zangrillo suggests Albert Gudmundsson will leave the club in the summer: ‘We wished him to fulfil his dream, we did the same with Radu Dragusin.’

Gudmundsson has been linked with several big clubs across Europe, including Inter, Juventus, Napoli and Tottenham and he’s expected to leave the Stadio Ferraris this summer.

Club president Zangrillo confirmed on Friday that the Iceland international will likely leave in the 2024 summer transfer window: “He’s one of the guys we love,” Zangrillo said during the Serie A Festival in Parma, as quoted by SOS Fanta.

“We wished him to fulfil his dream. We did the same with Dragusin. Gilardino has proved that the single player does not make the difference.”

Dragusin joined Tottenham in a €30m deal in the 2024 January transfer window and Spurs have also been linked with the defender’s former teammate at Genoa.

The Grifone are already in talks with Spurs over Djed Spence’s permanent transfer. The English defender moved to Marassi in the January transfer window as part of the Dragusin deal.

Gudmundsson, 26, scored 16 goals and provided five assists in 37 appearances with Genoa in 2023-24.
