Former Milan director Adriano Galliani reveals that Zlatan Ibrahimovic almost punched Massimiliano Allegri after Milan’s 3-0 loss against Arsenal in the Champions League in 2012.
Ibrahimovic joined Milan for his first spell at the club in the summer of 2010.
He spent two seasons with the Rossoneri, winning one Serie A title under Massimiliano Allegri.
The striker and the coach didn’t always get along. In 2012, the Diavoli managed to qualify for the Champions League quarter-finals despite a 3-0 loss against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
They had beaten the Gunners 4-0 in the reverse fixture at San Siro, but Ibrahimovic didn’t take that defeat too well.
Ibrahimovic: ‘I don’t need the Ballon d’Or to prove that I am the best’
“It was a terrible game, everybody was happy after the match, but when we entered the locker room Ibra was screaming like a mad man,” Galliani said during the presentation of Ibrahimovic’s book in Milan.
“He almost beat Allegri up because he had brought two goalkeepers in the bench. Ibra is never happy. He is never satisfied. He always wants the maximum.
“If he draws or finishes second, he gets angry. He is never satisfied, and this is his best quality.”
Ibrahimovic also spoke during the event, discussing the secret to his longevity and admitting that the opportunity to win the Scudetto with Milan this season is what motivates him.
