Five free agents Juventus could target next summer

Though the January transfer window is just around the corner, Juventus and sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli are already looking ahead to next season and have reportedly identified a number of players who will soon be available on free transfers.

Recent reports have suggested that the Bianconeri will look to sign a midfielder in January to make up for the losses of Paul Pogba and Nicolo Fagioli through long-term suspensions.

Atletico’s Rodrigo De Paul and PSG’s Fabian Ruiz have been linked with a move to Turin by multiple outlets over the last few months.

However, there are several other midfielders, as well as some defenders and attackers who are set to be available for free at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.

Starting from the back, Il Bianconero have suggested that Juventus could challenge both Inter and Milan for the services of Lille centre-half Tiago Djalo. The 23-year-old has not featured this season due to a long-term knee injury, but it is expected that he will leave the Ligue 1 side at the end of his current contract.

Also drawing interest from Juve and both Milan clubs is Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly. The Cherries would like him to extend his stay beyond the end of the 2023-24 season, but an offer of European football next season could be too good to turn down.

Juve are also set to part ways with Alex Sandro upon the expiry of his contract this summer. His ideal replacement, as per il Bianconero, is Atletico’s Mario Hermoso.

Another target already familiar with Serie A is Napoli’s Piotr Zielinski. Guintoli knows him well from his time at Napoli. The Partenopei would like to keep the Poland international on board, but a contract extension has not yet materialised.

Finally, Juve could reportedly look to bring in 21-year-old Athletic Club winger Nico Williams, although they will likely face competition from a number of the top clubs across Europe.
