Fiorentina owner Commisso richer than Chelsea chief Boehly

Rocco Commisso

Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso and former Milan owner Paul Singer have been named ahead of Chelsea patron Todd Boehly and Roma chief Dan Friedkin in the Forbes list of richest Americans.

There is an increasingly American flavour to investment in Serie A and B clubs, with more potentially looking into the purchase of teams.

Viola owner Commisso, who was born and raised in Italy before moving to America as a teenager and making his fortune, is 114th in the overall Forbes list of richest Americans with his wealth valued at 8 billion dollars.

Paul Singer and his Elliott Management had owned Milan until the summer, when completing the sale to RedBird and Gerry Cardinale.

Singer is 174th in the list with 6.1 billion dollars, ahead of spend-happy Chelsea patron Boehly in 176th place with 6 billion dollars.

Roma patron Friedkin takes his spot in the chart in 184th position with 5.7 billion dollars.
