Devastated Jorginho feels more guilty than his Italy teammates

Italy star Jorginho broke to tears inside the dressing room at the Stadio Barbera last night and according to Il Corriere dello Sport, the Chelsea playmaker feels more guilty than his teammates.

The former Napoli and Hellas Verona star fluffed two spot-kicks in the qualification group games against Switzerland. The Azzurri failed to win any of the two matches against the Swiss and were forced to get their spot for Qatar 2022 through the play-offs. It must be said that Jorginho’s errors were not the only costly ones for the Azzurri.

Jorginho struggled to fight back the tears during his post-match interviews last night and according to Il Corriere dello Sport he was even more desperate inside the dressing room and felt more guilty than his teammates.

During his chat with Rai Sport, he admitted that the remembrance of those two spot-kicks would haunt him for the rest of his life. Jorginho has missed the last three penalty kicks for the Azzurri, while he has a perfect record for Chelsea in 2021-22 with ten goals from ten penalties.
