De Sciglio halves wages in new Juve contract

Mattia De Sciglio is ready to sign a new three-year contract with Juventus, although he’s had to half his wages to stay in Turin.

The 29-year-old Italian full back is a protégé of coach Massimiliano Allegri, who welcomed him back into the Bianconeri squads after his year away on loan with Olympique Lyon. He made 20 Serie A appearances this campaign, filling in as both a left and right back when needed.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, De Sciglio’s new contract will see his wages drop from €3m net per season to €1.5m net per year, a sign of his desire to stay in Turin with Juventus.

The Italian full back joined the Old Lady back in July 2017 from Milan in a deal worth around €12m. He’s made 91 appearances for the club, being a part of the team that won three Scudetti, three Supercoppa Italiana and one Coppa Italia.
