Chiesa still struggling ahead of Juventus vs. Milan

The fitness and availability of Federico Chiesa is still a cause for concern for Juventus approaching next weekend’s blockbuster Serie A clash between the Bianconeri and Milan at San Siro.

The 25-year-old was initially called up to Luciano Spalletti’s Italy squad for the Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and England, however, he was sent home with an injury before the first game kicked off on Saturday.

Spalletti noted in his press conference that Chiesa had a “30%” chance of playing at the time of the decision to send him home.

Chisea has undergone medical assessments, which ruled out the possibility of a muscular injury, however, as reported by Calciomercato.com, he is still continuously struggling with discomfort in his thigh.

Calciomercato note that Chiesa will be subject of a new round of analysis at J-Medical on Monday.

At this point, it has now been over a week since the last time Chiesa was able to train, which is not ideal for Massimiliano Alkegri and his team heading into next weekend’s Milan game.
