Cavani banned for three matches

Edinson Cavani's season is over after the Napoli hot-shot was handed a three-match ban on Tuesday.

The Uruguayan was dismissed in the 2-1 loss at Lecce at the weekend for picking up two yellow cards.

After being cautioned for the second time, he ironically gave the referee a pat on the back which has resulted in today's punishment.

The Uruguayan, who has scored 26 Serie A goals this season after his switch from Palermo, will now miss the games against Inter and Juve this term, as well as Week 1 of the new season.
