Russia manager Fabio Capello doubts Gonzalo Higuain will join Chelsea and warns Clarence Seedorf is a “shot in the dark” as Milan Coach.

The former Milan, Roma, Real Madrid and Juventus boss spoke to Fox Sport Italia from the Dubai International Sports Conference.

He was asked how close he had really been to accepting the Tottenham job after Andre Villas-Boas was sacked.

“Everyone knows I worked with Franco Baldini at Roma and Real Madrid, but there was never any contact with them. I want to continue this project with Russia.”

Capello also commented on other rumours doing the rounds in newspapers, including Chelsea’s bid for Napoli hitman Higuain and Milan preparing Seedorf to be their Coach next season.

“There aren’t many strikers who can make the difference in January, but I’d see Radamel Falcao settling in well at Chelsea.

“Jose Mourinho already trained Higuain at Real Madrid and knows him well. However, Napoli cannot let him leave, unless they have an equally impressive replacement lined up. Selling a player like Higuain would be very problematic.

“As for Seedorf, that’s a big leap forward. Some have made the move from player to top level Coach immediately, but I don’t know if it’ll be possible in Italy.

“I am Seedorf’s friend and wish him all the best, but it is a shot in the dark.”
