Braida: ‘Milan will win the Scudetto’

Former Milan director Ariedo Braida believes the Rossoneri will win the Serie A title this season: ‘Paolo Maldini and Stefano Pioli have done an extraordinary job.’

Braida spent more than 20 years at Milan.

He was appointed general director in 1986 and, from 2002 until 2013 he served as the club’s sporting director.

He then moved to Barcelona, where he worked as ‘international sporting director’ in charge of negotiations with foreign clubs.

“I think Milan will win the title this season, Maldini and Pioli are doing an extraordinary job,” Braida told GR Parlamento, as quoted by Tuttomercatoweb.

“Zlatan Ibrahimovic will still be decisive even if time passes for everyone and now he often has physical issues.

“I am convinced that continuing with the same coach is essential because you have to start from scratch every time you change it.”

The Rossoneri sit second in the Serie A table, just two points off leaders Napoli.

After the break, Pioli’s side hosts Hellas Verona at San Siro before meeting Bologna, Torino, Roma and Inter.

They didn’t have a great start in their first Champions League campaign in seven years as they lost both their opening matches against Liverpool and Atletico Madrid.
