Barcelona eye Milan contract rebel Kessie for January

Franck Kessie’s Milan contract is due to expire in June, so there are reports in Spain that Barcelona want to swoop in January.

The situation is increasingly tense behind the scenes at the Milanello training ground, as negotiations to extend his current deal have hit a brick wall.

The Rossoneri already lost Gianluigi Donnarumma to PSG and Hakan Calhanoglu to Inter as free transfers after similar sagas ended with the contract expiring.

There may well be a way out for both player and club, because Mundo Deportivo claim that Barcelona are ready to make an offer for Kessie in January.

They would face competition from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United, who have both been long linked with the Ivory Coast international.

If Milan were to sell in January, they would at least be able to bring in some money for the player.

They’d also fund a replacement, as Kessie would be away in January anyway for the Africa Cup of Nations.
