Allegri wins Serie A Coach of the Year

Max Allegri won the Serie A Coach of the Year Award for 2017-18, while Juventus were voted Best Team in the Gran Gala’ del Calcio.

The ceremony was held this evening in Milan and is the Italian version of the PFA Awards, as they are voted by players.

Maurizio Sarri won the trophy for 2016-17, but Allegri received the Best Coach nod after another Scudetto-Coppa Italia double.

“This is a wonderful evening and I thank everyone who works with me every day, especially the players,” said Allegri.

“It’s a group of great men, with a great club behind us. I am fortunate to have worked with so many marvellous players and tonight I see the Maestro Andrea Pirlo too. It has been truly an honour to work with all of them.”

Allegri is now training five-times Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo, who was the runner-up to Luka Modric in tonight’s France Football ceremony.
