Allegri reveals what Juventus must do to end crisis and beat Maccabi

Juventus boss Max Allegri admits the Bianconeri ‘must do more’ and avoid obvious errors they’ve been repeating since the start of the season to end their crisis and beat Maccabi Haifa tomorrow.

The Serie A giants have lost four games from 12 across all competitions this season. They must win against Maccabi Haifa tomorrow to keep their Champions League Round of 16 qualification hopes alive.

“It’s going to be a tough game, they showed good things here and played well against PSG. We must be careful, we can’t commit the same mistakes again,” Allegri said at a press conference.

Last week, Juventus won their first European fixture this season, beating Maccabi 3-1 at the Allianz Stadium. Tomorrow, they need the three points again to put pressure on Group H leaders Benfica and PSG who meet in Paris tomorrow.

“We need to play as a unit, the game against Milan was similar to the one against Benfica, where we could have scored the second goal,” said Allegri.

“We must improve and be more solid, which is the easiest and most obvious thing to do.

“Right now, we must do something more. Details make the difference, even just one centimetre. We need attention and passion.”

Juventus lost 2-0 against Milan on Saturday and are ten points behind Serie A table leaders Napoli.

Allegri has once again been criticised by fans and media, but the club is not considering sacking him and the coach is confident that the team will react.

“We have a chance to return to the pitch immediately,” he said.

“The previous two victories were misleading and we need reality and practical things. It’s a path that we must take. There are strong teams, but we can’t make certain errors, we must avoid the repeated mistakes we’ve made since the start of the season.

“We must be aware of the importance of tomorrow’s match, fight on every ball, and do simple things.

“We need heart and passion, it’s a part of a path after many years of victories. We put in all our love and the passion that Juventus deserve, but we must do more and more, regain self-esteem and return to the previous standards.”

Allegri delivered a speech during this morning’s training session at Continassa. The Bianconeri will soon take their flight to Israel from Turin’s Caselle Airport.
