Allegri explains why Ronaldo is leaving Juventus

Massimiliano Allegri explained Cristiano Ronaldo told him that ‘he has no intention of continuing’ at Juventus and will therefore not be in the squad against Empoli on Saturday.

Ronaldo is edging closer to Manchester City and left the Juventus training ground possibly for the last time earlier today.

Allegri explained why the Bianconeri striker will not be in the squad tomorrow, as he informed the club that he doesn’t want to continue at the Allianz Stadium.

“Speaking with Ronaldo, yesterday Cristiano told me he has no intention of continuing with Juventus,” Allegri said at a press conference.

“This is why he will not be called up tomorrow, he didn’t train yesterday and now we can talk about Empoli.”

The coach went on to focus about the task in hand against newly promoted Empoli tomorrow night, as the Bianconeri are looking for their first win in Serie A 2021-22.

Empoli arrive at the Allianz Stadium after a 3-1 defeat to Lazio in the first round of fixtures and Allegri expects another tough game.

“That’s the most important thing, in Udine we didn’t win a match that was well channelled. Tomorrow we have to win against a lively, quick team that plays good football.

“You need the right match to score three points.”

Ronaldo is set to leave Juventus after three seasons with the Bianconeri, scoring 101 goals in 134 competitive games with the Bianconeri.

The 36-year-old has been linked with a move away from the club all summer and reports in Italy and England claim he’s on the verge of completing a move to Manchester City.
