Massimiliano Allegri explained Cristiano Ronaldo told him that ‘he has no intention of continuing’ at Juventus and will therefore not be in the squad against Empoli on Saturday.

Ronaldo is edging closer to Manchester City and left the Juventus training ground possibly for the last time earlier today.

Allegri explained why the Bianconeri striker will not be in the squad tomorrow, as he informed the club that he doesn’t want to continue at the Allianz Stadium.

“Speaking with Ronaldo, yesterday Cristiano told me he has no intention of continuing with Juventus,” Allegri said at a press conference.

“This is why he will not be called up tomorrow, he didn’t train yesterday and now we can talk about Empoli.”

The coach went on to focus about the task in hand against newly promoted Empoli tomorrow night, as the Bianconeri are looking for their first win in Serie A 2021-22.

Empoli arrive at the Allianz Stadium after a 3-1 defeat to Lazio in the first round of fixtures and Allegri expects another tough game.

“That’s the most important thing, in Udine we didn’t win a match that was well channelled. Tomorrow we have to win against a lively, quick team that plays good football.

“You need the right match to score three points.”

Ronaldo is set to leave Juventus after three seasons with the Bianconeri, scoring 101 goals in 134 competitive games with the Bianconeri.

The 36-year-old has been linked with a move away from the club all summer and reports in Italy and England claim he’s on the verge of completing a move to Manchester City.

  1. Ronaldo knew that under Allegri, he would be dealing with a manager who would make demands, who would make him make tactical and positional sacrifices for the team, and who would hold him to account when petulant. Demands that of course wouldn’t align with Ronaldo’s insatiable self serving mentality, or potential to curtail his goal numbers, for the benefit of the wider team.

  2. I don’t see how that’s explaining why he’s leaving haha even if we all know why. I hope juve goes after either a too attacker or experienced midfielder . We need another midfielder badly

  3. Teams win because they are confident in their ability to succeed. Juventus has always had a winning mentality and have enough talent to win without Ronaldo. His loss will let other young players fill the void and get the experience they need to compete. I expect great things from Chiesa,Dybala (if healthy) and Locatelli and believe Chiesa will become the new leader of this young core.
With a strong defense and Allegri’s tactics they will win the Scudetto and may see Ronaldo down the road in the CL. Great teams can never succeed depending solely on one player and depending on Ronaldo is always a tempest in a teapot.

  4. As a Juve fan, this is great news. Although damaged over the last 3 years, both economically and as a brand, the club can now move forward and hopefully management start to make the type of sensible transfer decisions they made from 2011 to 2016 under Marotta. Paratici has a lot to answer for and so has Agnelli. One is gone and the other needs to rethink what Juventus is and what it stands for. Juventus has never been about one player, it has always been about the collective, the grinta and the fino alla fine mentality. Allegri will bring this back, but he needs a focused management that is not out chasing rainbows and brand prestige.

  5. He will break so many records with Man City though, I’m sure of it.

Another possible Ballon d’Or on the way for him.

  6. @Milan Fan

I don’t know why you call yourself a ‘Milan fan’, when you’re clearly running your own Ronaldo appreciation club. Already ordered your Man City kit I assume?

  7. @rosario

No, I’m not even his fan. I’m just not blind like you are. I can see and appreciate talent and beauty where I see it. Messi and Ronaldo are simply the best and are apart from the rest. Also, I’m not a child, I don’t call Ronaldo Cristina.

Ronaldo will score loads with the kind of service he will get in City, you don’t have to be a genius to see that. Surely even you can imagine that, can’t you?

  8. @Milan Fan.

Yep, I knew the Messi and Ronaldo drivel was coming.

Not a fan….he lives in your head rent free. Probably aspiring to go to the same eyebrow salon. How much is a Man City shirt these days? or will you be fully kitted out…shorts, socks and all?

  9. @Rosario. I know when Marotta left. But our best transfers were made in that 5 year period. Marotta had nothing to do with the Ronaldo signing (he actually opposed it) – it was Paratici who proposed it to Agnelli and Agnelli backed Paratici to get it done and Marotta was shown the door.

  10. @rosario

hahaha the amount of nonsense that comes out of your mouth! Obviously you are incapable of making a serious argument between adults. Rant away all you want for all I care and have a nice lonely and sad life in the incel forums my friend.

    LMAO

  11. I am absolutely delighted that Ronaldo is leaving Juventus. It was hard to see him asking the team to move forward to attack. Every time, there was an attacking chance, they used to pass the ball back to defender and keeper. No through passes, all were horizontal passes, wasting time, no vertical balls…Even he created many chances but no one there to capitalize them…..Juventus’s attitude was to score one goal and defend it where Ronaldo wanted to score another goal and finish the game. He tried but he couldn’t able to change the mindset of the team. Even this mediocre team, he was able to score 100 goals in 3 seasons is absolutely phenomenal. Whereas Dybala who is supposed to be the next leader of the team scored 100 recently after Ronaldo, in what 6 or 7 seasons. That tells what Ronaldo could make difference. He gave everything to this team to win things. But the lackluster team around him, could not support him to achieve what he wanted to achieve. At least now, we see some good players are with Juventus – Chiesa, kulusevski, Locatelli, Delight etc. I am hoping that they can grow and help to make some difference in the future of Juventus.

  12. I am happy that he leaves this back passing merchants, it was hard to see asking the team to attack, going to the defensive area to make them move forward so we can attack and score. Some pathetic fans, never will understand Juventus mentality — score 1 and defend it, they were winning with that attitude but football is changed and it doesn’t work always….

  13. @Frankie So well put 👍

Easy UCL GROUP for Ronaldo! Apparently he was unhappy with Juve squad and Allegri’s coaching .. so look forward to his time with Ole, Fred, Maguire …..

  14. I honestly don’t know why Juve brought back Allegri., This is a coach who can never player 2 games without getting his players injured..If Juve is to wim the ucl, we need Zidane as a coach.Cr7 left cos of Allegri simple.
