Victory over the Nerazzurri moved Clarence Seedorf’s side up to eighth in Serie A and the goalkeeper believes another two victories to finish the season will see the team claim a place in Europe.
“Winning the derby always gives you enthusiasm and we will try to use it to our advantage,” Abbiati said to Milan Channel.
“For quite a while now our results have been positive. We slipped up against Roma but we have got a lot of points.
“Before the derby we said that we would need nine points out of nine to get into the Europa League. Now we just need two more victories.
“We know, however, that it will not be at all easy when we got to Bergamo to play Atalanta. It will be a tough atmosphere.”
