Sassuolo owner Giorgio Squinzi praises Eusebio Di Francesco and Max Allegri, calling the latter “among the five best in the world”.

The Roma and Juventus Coaches both came to prominence with the Neroverdi, and the President discussed their careers in an interview with Sky.

“Allegri and Di Francesco are two excellent Coaches,” Squinzi said.

“Allegri only stayed with us for a year, taking us from Serie C1 to B, while Di Francesco stayed much longer and took us to Serie A, staying with us for our first four years in this division.

“They’re definitely two excellent Coaches, and Max is among the five best in the world. He’s jokingly told us that we made his fortune!

“In Serie B he received an offer from Cagliari and I left the way free for him to go.

“He’s always been the same, he can keep the squad calm and together, even in difficult moments. It’s a skill he’s always had.

“With Eusebio the team found remarkable ease in scoring. Reaching Europe was a huge objective, not to mention staying up in our first year in Serie A.

“At one point that season we sacked him, but then we recalled him.

“To Allegri I’d say keep doing what you’re doing, the big objective, the Champions League, is still a long way off so best wishes to him.

“For Eusebio too the objective could be to go as far as possible in Europe. A Juve-Roma final would be beautiful.”
