Zeman: ‘Totti situation not normal’

Zdenek Zeman says “it’s not normal” for Francesco Totti to only play the last few minutes for Roma.

The captain came on with just five minutes remaining last night, as the Giallorossi trailed Torino 2-1.

However, Er Pupone quickly scored twice to win the match for his side and take a big step toward Champions League qualification.

“It’s normal that Totti does these things,” Zeman, a former Roma Coach, told Sport Mediaset.

“It’s not normal for him to come on for the last seven minutes. I feel sick for Totti, from Rometta [a small Sicilian town] they became Roma thanks to him. I think it’s right for him to continue.

“That said, I don’t know what the internal relationships are. I don’t think there are many players like Totti today, I respect him a lot.

“The strong man at Roma is [Coach Luciano] Spalletti, he has carte blanche and operates according to his convictions.
