Watch: De Paul inspires Argentina’s Copa America win

Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul inspired Argentina’s victory over Brazil in the Copa America Final, delivering the assist for Angel Di Maria’s winner.

It was a historical night for La Albiceleste, who won their first major international trophy in 28 years, beating Brazil 1-0 at the Stadio Maracana in Rio de Janeiro.

Angel Di Maria scored the winning goal for his side, with a chip finish after 22 minutes.

The PSG star’s goal was inspired by a long pass from Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul, who is on the verge of joining Atletico Madrid.

The 27-year-old spent five seasons at the Dacia Arena and, according to reports in Italy, he’s set to join the Colchoneros in a €38m move.

However, back in June, Udinese sporting director Pierpaolo Marino claimed the Argentinean’s switch to the Wanda Metropolitano is not a done deal yet.

De Paul will have time to focus on his future after enjoying celebrations with his Argentina teammates.
