Udinese sporting director Pasquale Marino surprisingly reveals Rodrigo De Paul’s move to Atletico Madrid ‘is not a done deal yet.’

According to multiple reports in Italy, the Colchoneros had completed the signing of the 27-year-old for €35m, but Udinese’s sporting director Pasquale Marino has denied that the deal is done.

“Talks with Atletico Madrid are at an advanced stage, but there is still a considerable gap [between offer and demand],” Marino told Tutti Convocati.

“There are other clubs interested, the deal is not closed,” he continued.

“Atletico are leading the race, but we haven’t reached an agreement yet, otherwise the transfer would be official. De Paul is still a Udinese player. He is 27 and it’s understandable that he wants to leave, when he will, we will be ready to replace him.”
