Video: Italy striker Retegui arrives for Genoa medical

Italy international Mateo Retegui has landed at Milan‘s Linate Airport before joining Genoa.

The Argentine-born forward, took off from Argentina on Sunday saying that Genoa legend Diego Milito influenced his decision to join the Grifone who have just returned from Serie B.

“I am really happy to be here, it’s an honour,” Retegui said upon arriving in Milan on Monday morning.

“I haven’t spoken to Roberto Mancini, we will do it tomorrow, it’s been a long journey. Tomorrow we speak and sign.”

Retegui made his Italy debut this past March and has scored two goals in three appearances with La Nazionale.

Multiple sources in Italy claim his move to Genoa is worth over €15m including add-ons. He will play under Italy World Cup winner Alberto Gilardino at Marassi.
