Marco Verratti has reiterated he is grateful to next Roma Coach Zdenek Zeman, but “I am staying at Pescara for next season.”

The 20-year-old talent was in Cesare Prandelli’s long-list for Euro 2012 and has now returned to the Under-21 Italy squad.

“I am not moving. I already talked it over with President Sebastiani,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I am staying at Pescara for next season and will get my first taste of Serie A with this club, then we’ll see.”

Coach Zeman took the Delfini to promotion, but is on the verge of taking over at Roma, leading to speculation Verratti would also go to the Olimpico.

“I owe a great deal to Zeman and hope he has a wonderful campaign. Maybe one day we’ll meet up again.”
