Verona’s Curva closed after anti-Napoli banner

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the FIGC Sporting Judge has closed Verona‘s Curva for a game following a shocking anti-Napoli banner unveiled before their Serie A match on Sunday.

The banner featured the flags of Russia and Ukraine and the coordinates of the city of Naples, clearly suggesting that it should be the next target of Russian aggression. It has caused outrage in Italy and investigations are ongoing to identify those responsible for the shameful banner.

Meantime, Verona ultras won’t be allowed to watch their next home game from the Curva, which will remain closed in their next Serie A match against Genoa on April 3. Igor Tudor’s side will return to action next weekend, visiting Empoli at the Stadio Castellani.
